Raphy may or may not like this…

Ok this is kinda strange. I went to Google images and typed in Pacitto. So on the first page you see a bunch of people with the last name Pacitto including Jeff’s cousin Laura the homeopathic doctor. But if you go to page 2 of the images. Take a look at the last picture in the top row. All I have to say is…interesting.

I heard this new bite this morning on 680news, but couldn’t find it on their website. A quick google search led me to this person’s website, Occasional Superheroine. Take a read of her site, but basically the town of Batman in Turkey is filing a law suit against Warner Brother et al in regards to the Dark Knight film, since they “stole” the name and didn’t ask permission from the city of Batman. Now, I’m not sure when Batman (the City) was founded, but I’m pretty sure sometime over the past 50 years or so since Batman’s inception in the DC universe, SOMEONE overseas would have come across this coincidence and brought it to the courts sooner than that. On top of that, there have been like 5 batman movies, all with the name “Batman” in the title, and the mayor chooses to try suing “The Dark Knight”…the ONE film WITHOUT “Batman” in the title! Anyway, go read her article, because she brings up a good point about copyright on the name Batman, now that you can claim you’re associating yourself with the town, not the trademarked superhero.
A Decent, Short Apple Rant
November 7th, 2008 by JackFace
Here’s a quick snippet from this guy’s website that does a good job at summing up the problem with some Apple (over)aficionados. Give it a quick read, won’t take a moment, and being an Apple Mac user himself, it’s nice to hear an honest opinion, not wrapped up in stats or other convoluted garbage - just simple attitude and impression vs practicality.
Burger King - F*CK YEAH!
November 7th, 2008 by JackFace
Apparently Burger King sent out a slew of King masks as a promo at some point…to who, I don’t know, and why I never got one, I don’t know, but here is some genius marketing done by a fan of the BK. you can’t beat this kind of fan stuff for pure marketing promotion!
Another 15 Seconds in the Spotlight
November 7th, 2008 by JackFace
Well, I’m making my climb to those 15 minutes of fame in very small steps, but here’s another 15 seconds of fame from the Vaughan Celebrates 2008 DVD. Vaughan Celebrates DVDs are discs distributed to the sponsors of Vaughan events throughout the year. Here you’ll see a clip of me speaking at the Canada Day celebration, right after a bunch of councillors. It’s the same place and time I got a picture of me and Matthew in the Vaughan Citizen and on the web of the Vaughan Today newspaper.
Halloween: The Deleted Scenes

Enjoy these deleted scenes from the original Halloween. I didn’t know Michael Myers had it in him.
My 15 Seconds of Fame

For a few years now I’ve been totally engrossed in the netcasts of Leo Laporte on the Twit Network. One of the best ones is of course the Daily Giz Wiz with Dick DeBartolo (Mad Magazine’s Maddest Writer). I’ve corresponded with him a few times in the past, but on October 5th’s show, episode 671, I got more than just an e-mail response. While you’re visiting the site, please listen to the whole netcast - it’s actually quite funny, and the gadget they’re talking about sounds freaking cool! I suggest Mike or Darryl pick one up for their car…especially Mike, since he wouldn’t have to change the default greeting on the unit! Wondering what I’m talking about? Just go have a listen…it’s relatively short. And you can always subscribe to it on iTunes and get it daily!
Badi, phone home…

Cracked has done a great article highlighting foreign rip-offs that are “better” then the originals. Since Turkey is mentioned about 4 times on this list I thought I should pass the wealth. As much as I don’t like to promote any site on here you can bet that Cracked will have a good article almost any day so check it once in a while.
Brown Sauce
October 17th, 2008 by JackFace
While searching around on istockphoto(DAMN have their prices gone up!) for some stuff to use for this year’s work Christmas card, I stumbled upon a photographer with a link to his website, brownsauce.org. Interestingly enough, it’s a blog all about brown sauce, specifically, HP sauce. And I think he posts more frequently than I do!
Nailed It!
October 16th, 2008 by JackFace
It’s an odd curiosity, but I wonder if anyone else has found that when cutting the nails on their right hand (therefore using their left hand on the clippers) they often “forget” how to hold their hands. I find if I don’t think about it, and just start clipping away, there is no problem, but if I try to think about how to position my right hand for the clipping, or if someone interrupts me and I have to go back to finish cutting the nails on that hand, I get totally messed up for a bit, and it just feels all weird, the positions of the hands, etc. Anyone else half-crazy like me, or is it just me?
